Math - Shape and Space

I can describe and compare the sides and angles of regular and irregular polygons.
I can demonstrate an understanding of angles by classifying angles according to their measure and determine angle measures in degrees
I can draw and label angles

LINES

  • Horizontal - straight line from left to right

  • Vertical - straight line from up to down

  • Parallel - two or more lines evenly spaced out from one another; the two lines will never intersect

  • Intersecting - two or more lines that go through each other   + x #

  • Perpendicular - two lines that make an right angle _|_

SHAPES

Polygons

  • Regular polygon - all the sides are the same length

  • Irregular polygon -  all the sides are not the same lengths []

ANGLES

BENCHMARKS:

Right angle - 90

straight angle - 180

full turn - 360

TYPES OF ANGLES:

  • acute - less than 90 , obtuse - more than 90 but less than 180,

reflex - more than 180

TYPES OF ANGLES:
Acute - less than 90 degrees
Obtuse - greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees
Reflex - greater than 180 degrees

In order to showcase our understanding of angles, lines, and polygons, we created beautiful artwork inspired by Wassily Kandinsky
